An Evening with Daniel Mason, author of The North Woods
**Celebrating the launch of his forthcoming novel, Country People**
Join us at the Montclair Art Museum for an intimate, in-conversation evening with one of America’s most acclaimed novelists celebrating the launch of his new novel, Country People.
From Pulitzer Prize finalist Daniel Mason comes Country People, a lyrical, sharply funny, and deeply moving novel about a family starting over in the wilds of Vermont. When Miles Krzelewski—devoted father, struggling academic, and teller of unforgettable bedtime stories—relocates with his wife and children, he hopes for a fresh start. Instead, he finds himself drawn into a strange and enchanting world of eccentric locals, curious histories, and a mystery that may be more real than it seems.
Seating is limited to 300. Mason will appear in conversation with a surprise guest (to be announced).

Praise for Country People
“Wonderful—full of joy—and exactly the kind of reading experience we could all do with right now . . . the book of the summer.”
—Mick Herron, bestselling author of Slow Horses
Praise for North Woods
“A monumental achievement of polyphony and humanity. Relating the narrative of an entire country via a single plot of land, it sweeps the reader through hundreds of years and an array of protagonists with a deft, heartbreaking, idiosyncratic zeal. I loved it.”
—Maggie O’Farrell, author of Hamnet
“Dazzling . . . both intimate and epic, playful and serious. To read it is to travel to the limits of what the novel can do.”
—The Guardian
“Brilliantly combines the granularity of realism with the timeless, shimmering allure of myth . . . [an] eccentric and exhilarating novel.”
—The New York Times Book Review
